Wiffle Ball

There was a good story last week in the New York Times about some kids in Greenwich, CT who built a wiffle ball field. There's some controversy because it's built on a vacant lot and has caused some issues with the surrounding homeowners. Now, I can see the homeowner's point of view from a noise and property value standpoint.

That said, I think it's pretty cool what the kids built. It makes me think about the stuff we built in the pine trees behind our house when we were growing up. We used our imagination and made it up as we went along. Looking back, it was a lot of fun.

One of the kids was quoted as saying: "They think we’re a cult,"..."People think we should be home playing 'Grand Theft Auto.' " We probably should be thankful there are some kids using their imagination instead of playing Grand Theft Auto.
