St. Lucia 2009

We've made our air and resort reservations for St. Lucia! In 2007, we stayed at the Halcyon Beach and really loved it. The Halcyon is the smallest Sandals resort on the island (I think it is the oldest too). We enjoyed the small size and the laid back and relaxed atmosphere. This time we're going to try the Sandals Grande St. Lucian, and we will be travelling with our friends James and Megan. We all talked about the three different resorts and decided on the Grand St. Lucian.

The Halcyon had a very relaxed atmosphere; it will be interesting to see what this larger resort is like. One key difference is that this one has six restaurants so we won't need to travel to the others as often to try something new for dinner. We were only at the Grand St. Lucian one evening for dinner (and to buy a couple of really cool watches!), but my impression was the beach was nicer. I'm jazzed because I want to try a week at one of their larger resorts to see the difference.

At the end of the day, the weather is spectacular, the water is warm and we'll be completely cut off from the technology that completely permeates our daily lives. It is a time to relax and recharge (with an umbrella drink of course!).
