Sad news...

My Mom forwarded an email from my Aunt Jean letting us know that her husband has been diagnosed with lymphoma (cancer). They found a lump on his neck. It is stage 1 and the doctors believe they found it early enough that it can be treated. He has started chemo and my Aunt says he has already lost his hair.

You know how there is always one Uncle who is just fun? For me that is Uncle Bud. Bud is a funny man and I always looked forward to visiting them when we would travel to KY for a visit. When we'd visit, and he'd offer everyone drinks, he always served us kids a coke in the same type of glasses the 'adults' were using. Not sure why, especially since it was such a little thing, but it was always fun -- it made us feel included, and it was just cool too.

My memories of visits with Jean and Bud are all very fond. When I was in basic training, I called Jean quite a few times. She always stayed on the phone and listened and it was really nice to know I could call.

My thoughts and prayers are with them both for a full recovery for Uncle Bud.
