In the air...
12:49 EDT
Mark and I are in the air and headed to Vegas. We're about 30 minutes behind schedule because our flight crew was late. When they finally arrived, they were met with loud cheers and a lot of clapping -- just what you'd expect from 200+ people impatiently waiting to begin the 4.5 hour flight to Vegas.
We're on a newer 767 with too little leg room. OK, most planes have too little leg room for me. We each have our own personal vdeo entertainment center. Very cool technology. Mark just finished watching Jumper and has gone for a stroll. I was pretty jazzed about the video system, but am now just disappointed. The sound from my neighbor's system is 'bleeding' over mine. It finally just got too annoying and I stopped listening.
Lori's flight should have just taken off from Columbus. She's set to arrive about two hours after us.
I miss traveling with Susan. There's no 'People' indulgence, no one to cross their legs and bump my arm rest and, most important, no one to entertain with a made up profession. I was going to try the guppy farmer bit on my neighbor, but he doesn't appear to have a sense of humor. As far as I can tell, I'm not sure he even 'thinks he has a sense of hunor'. That being the case, there's no way he's gonna think the butt double is funny.
Mark is across the aisle and is napping. After the stress of our delay in Atlanta, we decided we should partake of a rum & diet coke. It was 10:45 AM and I was a little concerned that rum, Diet Coke, and granola might be inappropriate. Mark assured me that itwas OK because it was '5 o'clock somewhere in the world'. :-)
We've flown 937 miles and are over Texas now. I think I'll go for a walk too.
